The new title to the long running game series is titled as "Assault Horizon". The release date to the title is 10/01/2011, I don't know about a collector's edition yet but will soon find out soon. If this title plays anything like Ace Combat 6 did i will love it.

you know ive always wanted to try these games would it be ok to jump on 6 or should i try to play most of them in order to get a real feel for the game?

The Classics are good but they changed it up with Ace Combat 6 it would be a good idea to try it out. i love the game because the freedom they give you on it and how the online play works.
