Re: ajax chat?
We will have a chat that we all get together and chat sometimes. The only problem is that since we will have small children on here we do not want an open forum chat. So what we are thinking about is setting up specific times to open the chat so that it will have at least one of us admin there to kind of keep an eye on things.
So sit tight, once we figure out all the details we will let you know.

RE: all
Yeah, I'm thinking twice about havin the 24/7 moded chat. I mean, if I wanna meet a few friends online at quarter to midnight, should I have to have Mod's permission to chat on the site? I think we need to add this topic to our meeting sunday

RE: Jeff
Yeah, good ideal. Let's just play it by ear, if ppl start gripping, we'll can it or turn it into promo/specials chat sessions only. Like a release party special chat (which we need to have anyway lolz)

Re: ajax chat?
I do not mind the chat at all. The only problem I have is the fact that eventually there will be smaller kids on here (hopefully) and the chat does NOT filter out cursing. I know I would be upset if I found my son in a chat room with a bunch of people cussing and being very vulgar.
So I am hoping that people will be able to adhere to the rules we have set in place.

RE: Jeff
Yeah, I hear ya on that. We do gotta keep in mind the basic features that'll draw ppl though, and a chat is one. Hopefully, when we get big enough for that problem, we'll be big enough for a moderating staff

Re: ajax chat?
over on my other site we have the chat in a new window not as a part of the main page
u click the chat button at the top of the screen next to the "you have no new messages" and it forces a new tab or new window entirely to open up and be a stand alone chat room
we then can leave the main site if we need to and still have the chat tab open
the chat also doesnt auto kill the ppl for inactivity thats a real pain
but as i said before this is a good chat non the less and i have enjoyed using it so far

RE: DeReaper
Yeah, it is a pain to not have a pop out option, but, did you notice the resize at the bottom right corner? I like to make the chat thin so I can see the majority of the page, and if a user hops on, I can see 1 line to know if I need to go to chattin again lolz.
