BRINK : the Objective Review
Like many i was eagerly awaiting the release of BRINK. As far as game-play goes it's an entirely different experience from other games in the genre. The first main difference is the fact that the on-line play and the off-line experiences are the same. The only difference is the fact of human controlled bots and the A.I. controlled bots. During each scenario; players must work as a team to either capture, destroy, or escort different objectives throughout the missions. Another feature is the different classes and how they perform. First you have the Soldier class which acts to destroy different obstacles as well as replenish the ammo of the team. Secondly is the medic class that is used to revive downed teammates as well as replenish health and give health boosts as well. Next we have the Spy class whose main goal is to hack different doors as well as other covert tasks such as disguising themselves as the enemy team and hacking the comms to give every location of enemies on the radar. lastly we have the engineer which is possibly the most valuable of the classes next to the medic. The engineers have the ability to boost the damage done by friendly weapons, deploy gun turrets and land mines to help fortify defenses, and repair any downed defensive structures that may be blown up. All in all the game is about completing OBJECTIVES. The character you use online is also the character used in offline and campaign play so you can level the character up even when not playing with your friends. The movement engine is definitely something that takes some getting used to. Utilizing the act of freestyle running; the characters are able to maneuver over under and through most of the terrain in the world. while it takes some getting used to; once you get the feel of how to move through the world you will be soon annihilating the opposing forces with a style all your own. with so many options for customization including body type, tattoos, clothing, masks, weapon, attachments, and vocal options... BRINK is a game worth at least checking out in one way or another

Re: BRINK : the Objective Review
its a solid FPS even if all you want to do is run around and annihilate the other players. its worth checking out but then again the game is focused around objectives and customization if nothing else check it out from gamefly or your local game rental source if one still exists in your area
